There’s something about longer days and warmth in the air that makes eating out feel that little bit more special.
From Wednesday 3rd June, we’re welcoming summer with a brand-new menu at The Peacock at Owler Bar and we can’t wait for you to try it.
Food made for summer
The new menu has been put together with the warmer months in mind. There’s plenty of choice across the board, with options to suit different appetites, occasions and tastes.
From the small plates, the wasabi duck bonbons with sweet potato purée are a brilliant way to start, the citrus-cured salmon with dill emulsion is elegant without being fussy or the meat or plant-based sharers are a proper spread for the table.
Over on the large plates, the pan-fried sea bass with grapefruit beurre blanc and the hot smoked salmon and saffron risotto with poached egg are summer dining at its best. For something more hearty, the Derbyshire homemade pie of the week with proper gravy is hard to argue with and the Longbow signature burger, handmade using locally sourced beef from New Close Farm in Over Haddon, is a classic done properly.
For dessert, the strawberry and white chocolate Eton mess is the one for the season, and the sticky toffee putting is always worth a mention, with £1 from every sale going to the Me & Dee Charity.
Gluten-free dining you can trust
We’re really proud to share that The Peacock at Owler Bar has received accreditation from Coeliac UK for our gluten-free offering. This means our gluten-free dishes have been prepared and verified to contain no more than 20 parts per million of gluten, and our kitchen processes have been independently assessed and approved. For coeliac diners and those with a serious gluten intolerance, that kind of assurance matters. You can eat here with confidence.
