Pull up a perch

Our Peak District pubs are filled with passion and great people.

Here’s what you’ll love about The Peacock.

A bit of history

The Peacock at Owler Bar has been a rest stop for weary travellers and locals sharing stories since the early 19th century.

Originally built as a coaching inn and tollhouse to serve those journeying along the perilous roads between Sheffield and Derbyshire, this Grade II listed building retains much of its historical charm, and remains the perfect place to stop and take stock of its stunning surroundings.

Longbow Venues has poured a lot of love into The Peacock to blend rich heritage with a modern, welcoming atmosphere, making this country pub in the Peak District a cherished part of our cultural and culinary landscape.

Locally sourced

We’re proud of The Peaks! Which means we’re committed to using locally sourced ingredients that celebrate the Peak District’s rich farming heritage. From succulent meats and fresh produce to artisanal cheeses and regional ales, every dish is crafted with care and quality in mind. By working with trusted local suppliers, we make sure our menus reflect the best seasonal flavours, while supporting the community around us. It’s food that’s fresh, sustainable, and has a story to tell.
