A fresh approach to dining
This season is not simply about new dishes. It is about a new way to enjoy them.
Our menus are now arranged into small plates, large plates, sharing plates and salads, plus dishes from the grill. Sandwiches, sides and desserts are very much still part of the experience, but this refreshed structure gives you more freedom in how you dine.
You can build your own feast from small plates to share with friends. You can settle in with a comforting large plate all to yourself. Or you can mix and match, adding a side here, a grill dish there and creating a dining experience of your own.
Dishes worth talking about
Our chefs have pushed this menu beyond traditional pub food, introducing global flavours while keeping the quality and heart you expect from The Peacock at Owler Bar.
Among our small plates, you will find hoisin glazed pork belly, pistachio chimichurri prawns and spiced cauliflower pakoras. These dishes are bold, vibrant and ideal for sharing.
From our larger plates, the spring menu features hot smoked salmon with saffron risotto, pan fried cod and adaptable favourites such as our stir-fried noodles. Choose from marinated sirloin steak, sweet and sour glazed battered king prawns or maple and soy glazed tofu. Our Indian spiced curry offers another flexible option, served with your choice of slow cooked lamb shank, spiced onion bhaji or buttermilk chicken and halloumi.
We know that some dishes simply cannot be replaced. That is why familiar favourites remain, including our Derbyshire homemade pie of the week, chicken Milanese, classic fish and chips, The Longbow superfood salad and the Longbow signature burger.
Every dish on our spring menu has been thoughtfully developed by our experienced kitchen team, using seasonal ingredients and flavour pairings that reflect both creativity and care.

Our seasonal set menu is available Monday to Saturday. Enjoy two courses for £21.95 or three courses for £26.95. It’s ideal for midweek dining in the Peak District, relaxed lunches or an easy evening meal without compromising on quality.
Kids Eat Free
Dining out as a family should feel simple and enjoyable. Throughout the school holidays from 30th March until 10th April, you can receive one free children’s main meal with every adult ordering a large plate, a dish from the grill or a salad.
Fish Frydays
