Join us this festive season at The Peacock at Owler Bar, a characterful countryside pub at the gateway to the Peak District. With its roaring fires, rustic interiors and warm, relaxed atmosphere, The Peacock at Owler Bar is the perfect place to unwind and celebrate the magic of Christmas.

Our cosy venue will be dressed for the season with twinkling lights, winter greenery and festive touches throughout, ideal for everything from casual catchups to group get-togethers.

Available 28th November until 31st December

Our 2 or 3-course festive menu brings together much-loved Christmas favourites like roast turkey with all the trimmings, alongside delicious options including braised beef brisket and red lentil and beetroot risotto. Children can also enjoy half portions from the main menu, so the whole family can join in the festive fun.

Festive Afternoon Tea

Available Monday - Saturday (24 hours notice required)

Treat yourself to a Festive Afternoon Tea, a seasonal selection of sweet and savoury delights, served with your choice of tea, coffee or a glass of fizz! Perfect for a magical pre-Christmas get-together with friends or a midweek winter treat. We also have a Vegetarian Afternoon Tea menu available.

Breakfast with Santa

Santa’s coming to breakfast! Join us for a festive family breakfast at The Peacock at Owler Bar featuring locally sourced dishes from The Ginger Butchers and kids’ favourites like pancakes.

Each child will meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, have a photo and receive a gift.

Festive booking terms and conditions

Bookings
  • All bookings are provisional until confirmed by the venue.
  • We ask for final numbers for your festive booking one week before your reservation. We understand that things change and the number of guests may increase or decrease. This allows us to ensure you have a suitable table for the comfort of your group.
  • If one of your group can’t make it, please call us and cancel at least 48 hours before your Christmas event. Otherwise, we will have to charge you the full cost of the booking.
  • Please arrive ready to be seated at your booking time. This will ensure your experience, and that of other guests, runs smoothly. If you are running late, this may delay your food being served. If you think you’ll be late, please give us a call.
Pre orders and deposits
  • Please provide a pre-order and pre-authorisation for tables of 10 and above.
  • Full menu choices are required for all guests a minimum of 24 hours prior to the reservation.
  • If there are any allergies or intolerances within your group, please let us know when placing your pre-order so we can cater accordingly. We cannot guarantee amendments can be made without prior agreement.
  • Pre-authorisation of £10 per person will only be taken for table of 10 and above and we will only charge the £10 if a cancellation is within 24 hours of the booking.
Festive touches
  • Full festive table décor will only be available on pre booked festive reservations.
  • If your group order from a mix of a la carte and festive menu we can only guarantee crackers for the festive menu diners.
Festive Afternoon Tea
  • Available Monday – Saturday, 12pm – 5pm
  • Not available on Boxing Day
  • Minimum of 24-hour notice for bookings
  • Pre authorisation of £10 per person for all bookings which will be charged if cancelled on the day or in the event of a no show.
